Formed in 2019, the Carreiro-Williams Guitar Duo are at the forefront of chamber music partnerships in their generation, quickly establishing themselves on the professional concert circuit across Europe.
Jose Carlos Carreiro and Torrin Williams met whilst studying at the Royal Conservatory The Hague, the Netherlands, whilst studying with prof. Zoran Dukiç. Since then, they have respectively continued their Master studies at the Kunst Universität in Graz, Austria. Studying chamber music with prof. Petrit Çeku and early music with lutenist David Bergmüller they have gained a wealth of knowledge and expertise of music from the Baroque to the contemporary.
Having performed in numerous venues across the Netherlands, the pair have accumulated considerable experience on stage, building a reputation for being studious and versatile with their concert program. In Austria, the duo perform regular ceremonial concerts for the Styrian Provincial Government and work in partnership with the non-profit organisation Live Music Now. Next year, they will make their international debut, touring Thailand and South-East Asia.
Continually looking to break the boundaries of the classical guitar duo, the Carreiro-Williams Duo form their concert program of repertoire ranging from piano works by Gershwin and Tchaikovsky to orchestral works by Villa-Lobos and de Falla.
